School of Wine allies with Deloitte Winery Solutions and Services

Online event on 15/02 on emerging technological trends in the wine industry

The BSB School of Wine & Spirits Business has just teamed up with Deloitte Winery Solutions and Services – the department of the audit and consultancy firm offering a specific portfolio of services to wineries and companies in the wine sector.

The alliance focuses primarily on entrepreneurship and a series of conferences for students, graduates and the School of Wine ecosystem. The next one, on the theme of emerging technological trends in the wine industry, takes place on 15/02 online.

Supporting wine entrepreneurship

Thanks to this alliance, students in the MBA WSB (Wine & Spirits Business) and Mastère Spécialisé CIVS (International Wine and Spirits Trade) programmes can benefit from personalised support from the company if they decide to embark on an entrepreneurial adventure. Whether they are setting up or taking over a winery, or creating a start-up in the retail, services or digital sectors, student-entrepreneurs have the opportunity to test their business plan against the expertise of senior Deloitte Winery Solutions and Services staff, who also take part in the course dedicated to entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship is part of the DNA of our School, and is an area that we are constantly seeking to strengthen,” says Jacques Thébault, Director of the MBA Wine & Spirits Business. “This alliance is a real plus for our wine entrepreneurs, who each year represent around 15% of the School of Wine’s student body, and a quarter of our MBA intake. Being able to pitch in front of such a panel of experts really boosts projects, raises awareness of certain realities and boosts confidence. We hope to deepen our partnership with this entrepreneurial dimension in the coming years.

A series of conferences on major trends in the sector

A series of three conferences is organised throughout the year, open not only to SWSB students, but also to alumni and the SWSB ecosystem. These sessions, led by experts from Deloitte Winery Solutions and Services, aim to respond to the major issues of our time. So, after a meeting on the evolution of generational consumer trends in December, and before tackling the issue of sustainable development in April, emerging technological trends will be the focus of Deloitte Business Talks #2 on February 15, 2024.

Michael Juergens, Global Head of Deloitte Winery Solutions and Services, and his teams, will lead these online discussions and address the subjects of AI, NFT, digital assets, their possible uses and opportunities in the wine sector, etc.
