OBJECTIFS DE LA FORMATION

Tandis que les technologies existantes doivent encore aider à résoudre les problématiques environnementales, les technologies émergentes telles que l’intelligence artificielle et le Big Data sont porteuses d’énormes promesses pour aider l’humanité à créer des sociétés plus durables et plus inclusives.
Le MSc Green Tech & Sustainable Societies vise à préparer les étudiants à devenir les leaders responsables du monde de demain.

En rejoignant le MSc Green Tech, vous intègrerez un écosystème d’apprentissage innovant qui vous permettra de développer votre esprit critique. Vos compétences académiques mais aussi vos soft skills seront mises à profit afin d’appréhender la logique du succès des entreprises durables et inclusives. Vous apprendrez comment évaluer et concevoir des pratiques, des technologies et des systèmes qui apportent des solutions durables aux communautés et aux organisations.



APPROCHE PÉDAGOGIQUE
Fidèles à la pédagogie BSB, les méthodes d’enseignement du MSc Green Tech & Sustainable Societies adoptent une perspective très immersive d’acquisition de compétences et de connaissances. Vous participerez à des workshops et des conférences avec des professionnels, des études de cas sur des organisations et des phénomènes contemporains, ainsi que plusieurs field trips.

L’EMPLOYABLITÉ AU COEUR DES OBJECTIFS
Selon un rapport de PwC, le secteur des technologies vertes est en passe de connaître une croissance exponentielle au cours de la prochaine décennie. Ce domaine offre de nombreuses opportunités aux diplômés qui se spécialisent dans ce domaine.
On attend des futurs dirigeants de ces entreprises qu’ils aient une solide connaissance de la durabilité, ainsi que des contextes historique, politique et socio-économique. Des compétences avancées en matière de gestion et de connaissances des Green Tech sont également requises.

PROGRAMME

Le MSc Green Tech & Sustainable Societies comprend 400 heures d’enseignement et s’articule selon trois dimensions:
• La durabilité dans son contexte
• La gestion des Green Tech
• L’innovation durable

Le programme est structuré autour d’activités d’apprentissage en Active Learning, de projets de groupe et de workshops:
• nombreux projets terrain
• participation à des conférences professionnelles
• collaboration avec des institutions partenaires
• participation à un hackathon multidisciplinaire
• organisation d’événements liés aux Green Tech

SEMESTER 1

Core courses: 210 hours

Principles of Environmental Science
Global understanding of the earth systems allowing to learn from the past, understand the present and influence the future. Students will learn how physical, chemical, and biological processes maintain and interact with life. It draws upon disciplines such as biology, earth science, ecology, geography, and economics
• Sustainable Development Policies
Throughout the course, students will cover different questions on topics such as the goals and target of sustainable development, the European Green Deal, environmental standards, environmental and development-related challenges, global policies in response to those challenges and contemporary politics of global environmental and development changes.
Sociology of Global development and sustainability
The course provides a sociological perspective on economic, social and political processes, focusing especially on global social change and sustainable development so that students can acquire the knowledge required to understand and critically examine the discussions pursued about the global social change that marks modernity.
• Corporate social and environmental responsibility
This course examines the role of corporate responsibility as a strategy to improve products, profits, and brand equity. Students will examine numerous corporate initiatives that attempt to address these challenges as well as how they are being evaluated in the public eye.
• Creativity and innovation management
In this course, students will learn about the management of both creativity and innovation activities within an organization. They will learn about Design thinking, Sprint design, Management of creativity teams, Organizational agility, Knowledge management, Strategic management of innovation and Disruptive innovation theory.
• Sustainable consumption
The course presents a variety of social-scientific approaches to consumption, as well as a range of case studies from both affluent societies and emerging economies. Possible avenues for changing consumption patterns in a more sustainable direction are discussed throughout the course.
• Green and sustainable finance
After studying finance and sustainability as an integrated subject beginning with an introduction of financial and investment principles, the course moves towards financial analysis, financing, and valuation. It covers diverse aspects of responsible investments and offers tools for effective financial valuation and effective risk assessment.
• Research methods
Research methods for business students and preparation for writing a dissertation

SEMESTER 2

MSc advanced courses: 225 hours

• Renewable energy and clean technologies
This course provides the fundamental knowledge for state-of-the-art understanding of the various types of renewable energy (water, wind, biomass), and how these are integrated in the economics of the industrial sectors that account for most of the world emission. Discussions will be held on the economic, environment, politics and social policy aspects of the use of renewable energies in the energy transition of modern societies.
• Green product design
The course covers all the stages of product development for sustainability including ideation, product design, prototyping, manufacturing and product launch in the marketplace. Students will learn to integrate design, manufacturing, and materials into the design and development of new green products.
Managing NGOs
The course explores how NGOs can play a key role in promoting social and economic progress and students will have the opportunity to meet representatives of different NGOs in order to discover different approaches and management methods. Students will learn about development management in the international context and the impact of globalisation.
• Culture and Sustainable Development
Students will explore the major and irreplaceable role of culture in creating green jobs, reducing poverty, making cities more sustainable, providing safe access to water and food, preserving the resources of oceans and forests, and strengthening the resilience of communities in the face of disasters.
Environnemental Communications
As a growing emphasis on environmental responsibility, sustainability, and climate change mitigation has fostered a growing demand for environmental public relations on the part of governments, companies, NGOs, students will learn how to use strategic tools to establish dialogue with key publics, influence audiences and public policy, and ultimately advance their missions.
Ethics of technology
This course is concerned with the legal and moral challenges of managing technologies in societies so that they serve rather than harm individuals.
Sustainable Entrepreneurship & Green tech Challenge
Semester-long project in which students will understand some of the strategies that sustainable entrepreneurs employ to create high-impact ventures, highlighting unique models for social problem-solving that offer bold solutions to complex and entrenched societal and environmental issues, working on an issue they care about. Their developed projects are presented to an external jury of experts and the winners of the challenge have the possibility to receive personalized entrepreneurship coaching.
Green Tech Trip
Students will go on a field trip to witness the green tech and sustainable development issues in practice and to study the measures already implemented or those to be developed. They are expected to engage in several of the following activities: professional trade fairs and forums, TED conferences, green tech related events at governmental, non-governmental, and private organisations, social events, cultural events, and media events.


CRITÈRES D’ÉVALUATION DE LA FORMATION

Chaque module fait l’objet d’une évaluation qui est définie en fonction des objectifs et des compétences recherchées. Ces évaluations doivent être le plus en rapport avec les tâches demandées durant la vie professionnelle.

Elles ont lieu soit en cours ou fin de module, ou en fin de semestre et prennent différentes formes :

• Epreuve écrite sur table
• Travail individuel sous forme de dossier
• Travail de groupe
• Présentation orale individuelle ou en groupe

Le travail de fin d’étude est éliminatoire si une note de 10 minimum n’est pas atteinte.

Détenir un certificat de langue anglaise équivalent à :

Être titulaire d’un Master 1 français ou un Bachelor International ou de 240 ECTS validés.
