A doctoral program based on impact research, in partnership with the MIT and the Tokyo Institute of Technology
BSB is launching a Global DBA (Doctorate of Business Administration), the first class of which will be hosted on the Lyon campus from January 2024. This doctoral program, designed to perfect multi- and interdisciplinary managerial practice, is aimed at high-potential profiles who wish to become thought leaders by producing impactful research.
The program lasts from 3 to 5 years, with personalized support and teaching provided in the USA (Boston MIT) and Japan (Tokyo Institute of Technology), as well as the production of a thesis.
Break new ground by acquiring advanced research skills and techniques
The BSB G-DBA is a 3 to 5-year part-time doctoral program which, from January 2024, will welcome around 15 experienced professionals: executives and managers from private, public and non-profit organizations. The course enables candidates to realize their professional aspirations by helping them bridge the gap between theory and practice, thanks to a strong applied research dimension.
“Our aim is to shape thought leaders and produce impactful research” explains Dimitris Assimakopoulos, Director of BSB’s G-DBA. “The program will thus help connect some of the School’s core research areas – digital and responsible innovation, green and sustainable management, food & agri tech, wine and spirits – to broader societal needs. And all this in response to the major challenges facing our societies and economies in Europe and around the world.“
A unique experience on 3 continents
The selection of participants is based on the guiding principles of inclusion and diversity. The limited size of the group facilitates a high level of peer-to-peer interaction, an important factor in the richness of the program. Hybrid learning takes place over 6 face-to-face workshops on three continents. The first year takes place in France, on the BSB campuses in Lyon, Dijon and Paris. The second year takes place partly in Japan, at the TIT (Tokyo Institute of Technology), and the third year partly in the USA, at the Boston MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
The following years are devoted to completing the thesis. Throughout the program, particular attention is paid to the supervision of candidates, with dedicated teams – faculty and experts – providing individual follow-up and online coaching for each candidate. This close support is an invaluable key to success.
