The first aim of the MSc Data Science & Organizational Behaviour (DSOB) program is to provide students with a technical foundation on top of their initial training. This programme allows you to gain a technical skillset and a data-driven culture while enhancing their understanding of organizational and behavioural dynamics.

During this year of specialization, prepare yourself for an experience that is both academic and practical.

An academic background

The MSc Data Science & Organisational Behaviour includes an academic part made up of theoretical courses and of an experimental research work. BSB provides its students with an Experimental Laboratory in Social Sciences and Behavioural Analysis (LESSAC).

By learning the data management, students understand how data can affect decision-making in business. The  programme is on a synergy between rigorous understanding of the intersection between the data management and  behavioural analysis.

Practical training

This practical training is supported by company visits, including that of our partner PwC Luxembourg, and intensive workshops.

The programme offers an immersion in the professional world across several seminars as well as meetings with professionals in the sector. Students can apply their theoretical knowledge by working on actual situations submitted by partner companies.

The MSc in Data Science & Organizational Behavior prepares future professionals and data scientists in managing Big Data and behavioral change to a high level of expertise.

The program's distinctiveness lies in a rigorous understanding of the intersection between data management and behavioral tools.

Semester 1

  • Data Science Methods (intermediate) – Introduction to data science languages (R and Python) for data processing and analysis
  • SQL & Databases – Database design and data manipulation, Master DDL, DML, and DCL
  • Business-Oriented Data Governance – Data organization and governance, data ownership, data manager, NLP, data cleaning, (VBA), customer intelligence
  • Data General Knowledge – Understand data management in the data science process and identify associated technologies and practices
  • Seminars Series & Partner Class 1 – Courses taught by our partner (PWC Luxembourg) and guest researchers, and case studies on real business scenarios
  • Applied Information Analysis (intermediate) – Statistics with R applied to OB cases
  • Behavioural Tools – Design and develop behavioral decision-making and economics experiments
  • Behavioural Decision Making & Communication – Influence tools, nudges, experimental models, AI ethics, human intelligence versus artificial intelligence.
  • Enterprise and Realities – Singularity, project manager simulations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), lessons learned.

Semester 2

  • Recent Topics in Data Science – Introduction to machine learning and neural networks.
  • Data Science Methods (Advanced) Applications – Advanced topics in data science and business intelligence.
  • Seminars Series & Partner Class 2 – Courses taught by our partner (PWC Luxembourg) and guest researchers, as well as case studies on real business scenarios, with themes changing annually.
  • Behavioural Strategies for Business and Management – At the intersection of data science and behavioral sciences, this module analyzes several applications of behavioral techniques in the business world. How to make money by understanding behavior?
  • Applied Information Analysis 2 (Advanced) – Statistics and Econometrics Applied to OB
  • Research Methodology – The unique aspect of the MSc professional thesis is that it involves conducting a project in a laboratory setting, under close and continuous supervision for programming, design, and testing, in coordination with a company.

Immersive Field Trips to Industry Hubs


During their field trip to Luxembourg, students are hosted by PwC Luxembourg. They have the opportunity to discover the organization, visit its offices, and connect with MSc alumni MSc DSOB. Through these exchanges, they get acquainted wirth the wide variety of careers opportunities where data is at the heart of business.

The highlight of the visit is the Data Case Challenge, where students work on a real-world data problem and present their solutions in front of a jury of professionals. Some students may also have the opportunity to attend internship interviews.

Beyond professional networking, the trip also offers a chance to explore the city and its international environment.

Every year, students also visit a local organization, such as OnDijon (smart city and connected metropolitan project) in 2021, 2022,and 2023, or CSIRT BFC (regional cybersecurity center) in 2024.

How to integrate BSB's MSc Data Science & Organisational Behaviour?

An international 4-year bachelor’s degree or a French Master 1 (240 ECTS) in business or a related discipline.

The Master of Science Data Science & Organisational Behaviour has a unique structure: the academic part is linked to LESSAC, our Laboratory for Experimentation in Social Sciences and Behavior Analysis world-renowned, and the professional component is sponsored by our partner PwC Luxembourg.

This blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience is reinforced by professional field visits and intensive workshops, allowing you to understand the operations and mechanisms of the modern business world.

The objective of this high-level program is to train you in data management applied to the influence of behaviors, and to understand how data can be useful at all levels of a business, thus offering you a wide range of career options.

Programme evaluation criteria

Each module is subject to an evaluation that is defined according to the objectives and the skills sought. These evaluations must be most in line with the tasks requested during professional life.

They take place either during or at the end of the module, or at the end of the semester and take different forms:

  • Proof written on a table
  • Individual work in the form of a file
  • Group work
  • Individual or group oral presentation

The final paper is eliminated if a grade of at least 10 is not reached. The program provides 490 hours of courses over the year.
