BSB Launches Experiential 10th-Grade Internship to Democratize Access to the Corporate World

A unique initiative in France, supported by the Dijon Academy's rectorate, to promote equal opportunities and highlight technological pathways

While access to internships and discovering the professional world still largely depends on family networks, BSB announces the launch of a unique program: a collective internship for second-year high school students, entirely designed to offer a different perspective on the corporate world.

For two weeks, from June 15 to 26, high school students will be welcomed at the BSB campus in Dijon for an experiential immersion combining company visits, inspiring encounters, collaborative workshops, self-discovery, and career exploration.

Developed in conjunction with the Dijon Academy's rectorate and local economic stakeholders, this project aims to reduce inequalities in access to professional opportunities starting in high school.

An observation: students' career choices are still too often determined by their social, family, and geographical environment

Intended as a period for discovering the professional world, various professions, and evolving perceptions of them, the second-year high school internship often relies heavily on students' personal and family networks. As a result: some high school students easily gain access to stimulating companies, while others struggle to find a host organization or are limited to less enriching experiences.

With this new program, BSB aims to offer a concrete and inclusive alternative. The School will host a group of high school students for two weeks as part of an immersive program built around active learning. The objective: to enable all students, regardless of their social background or network, to access a concrete and exciting experience of the business world.

This internship opportunity is open to general and technological high school students who will enter the STMG track in their first year of high school in September 2026.

Discovering the corporate world differently: encounters, immersion, and active learning

To go beyond a traditional observation internship, the program designed by BSB is based on a logic of multiple and interactive experiences. High school students will participate in self-discovery workshops inspired by Pathfinder, the support program deployed at BSB, as well as business games to understand how a company operates, as well as collaborative work to learn teamwork.

The initiative also includes meetings with executives, employees, staff representatives, and entrepreneurs from various sectors. Several company visits will be organized in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté to showcase the diversity of professions and economic models in the region. To achieve this, BSB's traditional partners, such as CCI 21/71, MEDEF 21, CPME 21, Réseau Entreprendre, and companies led by alumni, will be mobilized.

A leading Business School affirming its societal role

Through this initiative, BSB reaffirms its commitment to actively promote equal opportunities and guide young people in their career choices. As a Grande École of management and a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles, BSB aims to leverage its educational expertise, corporate network, and resources to address a major societal challenge: enabling high school students to better understand the professional world as they make their career decisions.

Fully funded by BSB — including reception, meals, and transportation for visits — this pilot program will initially be rolled out to a few partner institutions in Côte-d‘Or, Saône-et-Loire, and Yonne, with the long-term ambition of extending it across the entire academy territory.

For BSB, this project goes beyond a simple 10th-grade internship: it aims to help foster fairer, more informed, and more ambitious career guidance for all young people.

Numerous national and regional internship offers are also available on the platforms 1élève1stage and on the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region's platform.
